Customizing Your Webflow Forms

Now that you have added a form to your Webflow project, it’s time to customize it to better fit your needs. This article will walk you through the steps to edit form fields and add new ones.

Step 1: Customizing Your Form Fields

1. Click to Edit Fields

  1. Click on any form field to open its settings in the right-hand panel.
  2. Here, you can change the placeholder text (the text that appears in the field before the user types), the field name, and whether the field is required.

2. Adding New Fields

Want to add more fields? Just drag the desired field type from the Add Elements panel into your form. Common field types include:

  • Text Field: For short, single-line text input (like a name).
  • Email Field: Specifically for email addresses, ensuring proper email format.
  • Text Area: For longer, multi-line text input (like comments or messages).
  • Checkbox: For options that users can select.
  • Radio Button: For selecting one option from a set.

Step 2: Setting Up Form Submission

1. Naming Your Form

Give your form a unique name to easily identify it later when you’re reviewing submissions. You can set the form name in the settings panel.

2. Submission Settings

Decide what happens when a user submits the form. Common actions include:

  • Email Notification: Send the form data to an email address.
  • Redirect: Send users to a thank-you page or another URL after they submit the form.

Customizing Webflow forms is simple and flexible. With these steps, you can tailor your forms to collect exactly the information you need from your visitors.
